Most social media companies are doing everything to keep you on screen. We're doing everything to get you offscreen.

How it works

1

Select your daily post limit and we'll serve you a fresh set of posts every morning.

2

Scroll through your posts knowing exactly how many you have left — like reading a newspaper with a clear beginning, middle and end.

3

Once you've read your daily posts, offscreen prompts you to do something more intentional with your time.

FAQ

Questions answered

What is the AT Protocol?

The AT Protocol is a new kind of social network — one where you own your account, your followers, and your data. Unlike legacy social media companies, no single company controls it. If you decide to leave to any other app built on the protocol, everything comes with you.

offscreen is built on top of it. That means when you sign up, you're joining an open network and ecosystem of apps — there are already 40M+ accounts on the protocol, including the people and communities you want to follow. You get to be social without the infinite scroll.

Can I log in with my Bluesky account?

Yes — you can log in with any account made on an AT Protocol app, including Bluesky. If you already have an account you're ready to go — your existing follows, posts, and profile from Bluesky come with you automatically.

Can I bypass the post limit?

You set the limit, so you can always adjust it. But once you've hit your cap for the day, offscreen prompts you to do something intentional with your time — that's the whole point. You can raise your cap for the next day if you know you want more, but we won't let you quietly sneak past it mid-session. The friction is the feature.

Social media that ends.
